Burton and Brown lead the way for Lady Knights

With a record of 5-1, the Lady Knights are off to their best start ever. Central Penn's high-powered offense is averaging 72.4 points a game, getting big contributions from starters Ja'Lynn Burton-Jones and Hannah Brown, with both averaging double-doubles(!).

Burton-Jones, a standout at Middletown High, is pumping in 35 points a game, grabbing 11 rebounds, making off with six steals and feeding her teammates five assists a game. Brown is knocking down 12 points and pulling down 10 rebounds a game.

Wislene Verna is offering consistent help averaging 6 points and 3 steals per game.

"As a team we are shooting almost 50% from the field, sitting at 49.2% on the season thus far," says Coach Kasey Hicks.

"But what sticks out the most is the heart and hustle the team puts in collectively on defense," Hicks continues. "They maintain intense defense game in and game out, averaging 11.6 steals per game and 3.8 blocks. Additionally they have held each opponent to shooting an average of under 36.1% from the field."

The Lady Knights face Penn State Mont Alto in an away game tonight.
