On a brisk Tuesday afternoon, the Lady Knights hosted Valley Forge in their final game of the season. With the hopes of going to the tournament hanging in the balance, the Knights needed nothing short of a win, but they were unable to do that against a tough opponent.
Valley Forge got the scoring started on a controversial penalty kick, to take the 1-0 lead. Several minutes later, Valley Forge added another goal to make it 2-0 going into the break.
In the second half, the Knights knew they had to push people forward, but it left them vulnerable at the back. Valley Forge took advantage and added three more, to make it 5-0. The Knights pushed for a goal, and found one through Wislene Verna, but their comeback was not enough, as they were defeated 5-1, by a tough Valley Forge team.
It was the last game of a successful season for the Lady Knights. The team has a lot to build on for next season, as many of the players were in their first year. The Lady Knights finish the season with a 7-4 record.
