Lady Knights scrimmage Wilson College

By Natalie Richards, student reporter

With just 10 players, the Lady Knights outplayed their opponents in the first half in an away scrimmage last week. Central Penn controlled the tempo, keeping the ball down at Wilson’s half of the field for much of the half. When Wilson did attack on the offensive end, goalie Kim Leitzel shut them down by making some great saves.

I talked to freshman Aleena Griffith and sophomore Kylie Kramer and asked what their thoughts were on the game against Wilson.

“I would say we played very well for playing together for the first time,” says Griffith. “But there are a lot of things we need to work on like passing, communicating, and getting open. I like the energy though and I know we’re going to get better.”

Kramer was pleased by some of the things she saw. “Our possession got us through the first half, but we needed to focus more on our defense second half,” she said. “We still played well for only having three returners and everyone was new.”

The woman’s soccer team have a home game this Saturday at 3pm against Penn State Monte Alto. Come out to Adams Ricci and support your Lady Knights.
