Once a powerhouse in cross country, Central Penn College will relaunch as a fledgling program for the 2016-2017 season. The team, which has laid dormant for the last few years will return to intercollegiate competition in the USCAA at the Div II level. Central Penn College Activities Director Adrienne Thoman has been named the team’s head coach. 

Central Penn has a rich history in Cross Country that dates back to the 1980’s when the Knights competed in the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association. In 1992 the women’s team were PCAA conference champions and in 1993 the men’s team put together a 22-0 undefeated season.

“The wheels are in motion and we’re working on setting a schedule," says Thoman. She praised her team’s commitment, “These students wake up every morning and run at 5:30 a.m.”
