Crusaders Too Much For Women’s Soccer
FRONT ROYAL, Va. – Central Penn's women's soccer team was no match for a scrappy Christendom squad in a 3-0 setback on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 21.
GAME SUMMARY
The Crusaders (5-1, 1-0 Conference) proved the aggressors from the outset and eventually struck first when Catherine Thomas converted a goal on an assist from Miranda Keller in the 23rd minute. The visitors doubled the advantage less than 3 minutes later when Claire Santschi ripped home a goal from distance off an assist from Miranda Keller as well. The home team dominated offensively and were ignited by 3 goals 2 coming from Catherine Thomas, the other from Santschi.
The Knights (0-1, 0-1 Conference) remained within striking distance well into the second half but a late push by Christendom led to an insurance marker when Catherine Thomas found the back of the net in the 55th minute.
