Women’s Soccer Team hosts a Summer ID Clinic
On Saturday, August 2nd, the Central Penn Women’s Soccer team hosted a summer ID clinic on Field A at Adams Ricci Park. It was the second ID clinic that Coach Grubesky and his assistant coaches conducted this year.
It was another opportunity for prospective student athletes to meet our coaching staff, current team, and compete on a practice field where the Central Penn College men’s and women’s soccer teams train.
The attendees participated in a high-level collegiate training session. The activities consisted of a dynamic warmup, a passing pattern that involved shooting on Pugg goals followed by several small-sided games that focused on defending and in another training game that involved switching the point of attack, before playing to regular-sized goals, and a cool down.
Training was also provided for keepers by our new goalkeeper coach, Alison Quinn.
Coach Grubesky commented, “we had three of our top 2026 prospective student athletes attend, including our first 2026 committed recruit. Several younger players impressed our coaching staff, including a 2028 recruit who impressed everyone with her excellent soccer skills.”
Grubesky said, “I am always glad when our recruits attend one of our ID clinics because they get to meet our team and work with my assistant coaches, too. Since we added two new female assistant coaches to our coaching staff, I thought it was especially important for the participants to meet them.”
Coach Grubesky added, “I also thought our current players did their usual great job of making all the attendees feel welcome. We certainly appreciate the support that we continue to receive from our Athletic Department administrators, Admissions personnel, and Marketing staff to help make it another successful recruiting event .”
